How this is made.

The name

A heddle is the part of a loom that lifts individual warp threads so the weft³ can pass between them. From Old English hefeld, to lift.

Typefaces

Both faces are self-hosted as variable woff2. Latin subset only; no external font requests².

Palette

Warm paper above, char below, ember as the bridge. The accent stays identical across light and dark — that's the whole point.
