1 Agreement

By accessing or using the Heddle service ("Service") operated by Heddle ("we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your information.

2 The service

Heddle provides a version control system with content-addressed storage, access control on spools, and agent attribution: people and agents propose, review and land changes, and every change records who made it. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

Heddle is in early access. Creating an account takes an invitation from someone who already has one.

3 Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account, including what agents do with sessions you give them. Notify us immediately at security@heddle.sh if you suspect unauthorized access.

Keep your sign-in methods and your recovery kit safe. If you lose every way you have to sign in, we cannot restore access to your account.

4 Your data

You retain all rights to the content you store in Heddle. You grant us a limited license to host, transmit, and display your content solely to operate and improve the Service. We do not claim ownership of your repositories, states, or metadata.

If you make a spool public, anyone can read it, including people without an account. When you import a repository, you confirm you have the right to store its contents in Heddle.

5 Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service, except as permitted by law.
  • Use the Service to store or transmit malicious code.

6 Access and sessions

Access to spools (Heddle's repositories) is governed by the grants made on each spool, which can include the spools inside it, and by the sessions you issue, which can only narrow what your account can do. You are responsible for managing grants and sessions within your organization, including those you give to agents. Heddle enforces access controls as configured but does not audit the appropriateness of your grant structure.

A spool's administrators can give Heddle support access to it. That access ends within seven days, and they can take it back sooner.

7 Plans and billing

Plans and prices are listed on our pricing page. Prices are before tax; tax is added at checkout. Payments are processed by Polar.

  • Renewal and cancellation. Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until you cancel. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and you can turn renewal back on before then.
  • Storage. Each plan includes an amount of storage. On paid plans, storage past it is charged per GB a month at the rate on the pricing page, for the hours you are over. The Free plan has no overage: anything that would take you past its limit is refused.
  • Over the Free limit without a paid plan. If your account holds more than the Free plan's storage without a paid plan, it is locked: you can still sign in, choose a plan, download your spools and delete them, but not work in them. If it is still over 120 days after it last had a paid plan, its spools and their content are deleted.
  • Invitations. Each account comes with invitations to give out. When someone you invited starts a paid plan, your account may earn more invitations or extra storage. We may change these rewards.

8 Availability

We target high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We will communicate planned maintenance in advance when feasible.

9 Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Heddle shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue arising from your use of the Service.

10 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Heddle harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11 Termination

Either party may terminate the relationship at any time. Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases.

To close your account, email privacy@heddle.sh. Deleting an account deletes its spools and cannot be undone, so download anything you want to keep first with the Heddle command line tool. If we end your access, we will make your data available for export for a reasonable period following termination.

12 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

13 Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the site. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
